Bradford City listened to fan feedback and came up with two alternative designs for the new badge but it would seem from social media that they’ve missed a trick and there’s an option that we may as fans be able to agree on. Unfortunately that version is buried as an alternative next to what some consider the worse choice of design of them all. What does this mean? Well it means that the results Bradford City get back from their vote may not truly represent what the fans actually think.

So underneath is a poll with the extra alternative for you to vote on and bantams.online will publish those results and if they differ from the official choices, will send these findings to the club. To save you a lot of reading, below is the poll with the alternative option added, which is simply to pull forward the official option B secondary design and see how it gets on as the main design or with a simple claret and amber only designed shield. For anyone who wants to find out what the issue with the data Bradford City may receivece, that is outlined at underneath the voting form.

Unofficial Bradford City Badge Vote

Please note that this is not the official Bradford City badge vote. If you’ve not already voted here is the link to that.

To vote click on your favourite image (option) and hit the submit button.

The issue surrounding the options provided by the official Bradford City vote is that the alternative on Option B has captured the imagination of many Bradford City fans however, many of those people also feel that the main offering on Option B (the badge with the shield) is the worse of all of them offered up so far. However because Bradford City have stated they will proceed with the badge chosen, those people voting for the secondary design will be voting for the badge they like least. What is the problem with this? It will skew the data because many who don’t like the Option B badge who would have voted for it if it had been the secondary design on offer are forced to either have their vote recognised as a vote for the badge they like least, or, choose to vote for the badge options they favour least (A or C) in this case. It means that the votes do not reflect what Bradford City fans truly feel, if there is any credibility to the claim that the secondary design for Option B is as popular as some are lead to believe. So for that reason bantams.online are putting that theory to the test.

If it turns out that the alternative wasn’t that popular and it was just a Twitter thing, then we will know for sure either way. If it is true that there’s a lot of support for the secondary design, but there’s a lot of people who are voting against the main design, this poll will also reveal what fans really think.

    1. There’s no narrative, just option b 2nd design is polar opposite to some fans of b. Eg hate the badge love the secondary design which actually makes it unfair to fans who want change but want something decent. If there was a narrative, this vote wouldn’t include the vote on the original badge. And it gives a more accurate sense of who is against change (as it’s running quite close anyway).

Effectively if the result goes your way this will only serve to confirm that most fans don’t want change. So the exact opposite of what you said is true.

  1. My thoughts have always been.. why the Bantams used to be the Paraders, anyhow, Bradford City should be the ‘Wildboars’, the Wildboar represents the heritage and folklore of our city, with the legend/story/mythology of the hunting of the last aggressive Wildboar(around Gt. Horton) and the cutting off of the tongue to show the Mayor/Lord of the Manor as proof etc, etc.. it sits centre of our cost of arms and is a natuve, powerful and proud animal to represent as mascot of the club .
